DVD and CD's  We use Sony & Memorex media.  You may request to purchase a
Delkin gold layered disc which boasts a 100 yr lifespan for DVDs and a 300 yr
lifespan for CDs.

DVD and CD Labels  We print custom labels for your disc, however we do not
generally put labels on the Delkin archival discs as it is recommended not to put
labels on discs as the adhesives used may contribute to degeneration of the disc.
Your disc is sent in a slim jewel case with a personalized printed sleeve.

RGB  All color scans are done in RGB (red, green & blue) mode.  You may request
CMYK (cyan, yellow, magenta & black) mode, B&W mode or B&W mode with sepia
tone.

JPEG & TIFF Files  We save our files as JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts
Group) format.  You may request TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) formatting.
Please call us if you would like your files converted into other formats or file sizes.

Wide screen TV, TV & Computer Monitors  You may purchase a TV disc
which will contain your images reduced in resolution perfect for display on TV and
much easier to send your images in email.  You should use your original disc for
physical prints.

Digital ROC & SHO  There are many 'automatic' types of software that will
instantly restore color and other types of age damage to your prints and film.  Digital
ROC (restoration of color) may be useful for color faded negatives and prints which
get a reddish or bluish tint.  Sometimes tungsten and fluorescent lighting creates a
yellowish or whitish cast over the image.  Black & white photos restore lovely density
and contrast with this software.   Digital SHO (shadow & highlight) is useful to pull
detail out of shadows and to correct contrast.  We do not use this type of software.
Your scans are corrected individually and saved alongside the original scan.  While
this software can be useful and quicker it does not always produce the desired
results.

Scanned Prints  Original prints are scanned in at 300 dpi which is a 1:1 ratio.
You may request scans up to 600 dpi if you intend to work with them.  600 dpi will
give you the ability to enlarge 2x.  Scanning originals more than 600 dpi will not
illustrate more detail.

35mm Slides & 35mm Negatives  Slides are scanned at 2000 dpi which is
ideal for general use.  If you would like to play with the scans and do a lot of
cropping you may prefer 3000 dpi.  High end and professional films may be
scanned at 4000 dpi.  Again 2000 dpi should be more than enough resolution.  Old
materials and consumer film will look much better at this resolution and modern
electronics surpass this type of film.

120/220 Medium Format Film Scanning  We generally scan at 1000 dpi.
You do have the option of 2000, 3000 or 4000 dpi.
